What is Tretinoin Microsphere & Clindamycin Gel

A tretinoin microsphere and clindamycin gel is a topical medication used to treat moderate to severe acne vulgaris in patients 12 and older. It clears existing pimples, prevents future breakouts, and reduces inflammation by combining an antibiotic with a retinoid.

Tretinoin 0.025% w/w as microsphere + Clindamycin 1.0% w/w

How the Combination Works

• Clindamycin: A topical antibiotic that penetrates the skin to kill or stop the growth of bacteria responsible for acne flare-ups.
• Tretinoin (Microsphere): A vitamin A derivative that promotes skin cell turnover. The microsphere technology encases the tretinoin in tiny, porous polymer beads, allowing for a slower, controlled release that minimizes common retinoid side effects like peeling, burning, and irritation

Expected Results & Potential Side Effects

• Timeline: It usually takes 10 to 12 weeks of consistent use to see significant improvement, though results can vary.
• Side Effects: You may experience mild redness, dryness, itching, or peeling, particularly during the first few weeks of treatment

How to Use It

1. Preparation: Wash your face gently with a mild, non-medicated soap and warm water. Pat your skin dry and wait 20 to 30 minutes to ensure it is completely dry. 
2. Application: Apply a thin, pea-sized layer evenly across the affected areas of the face in the evening. 
3. Precautions: Avoid the eyes, lips, and mucous membranes. Limit sun exposure and use a daily sunscreen, as tretinoin makes your skin more sensitive to UV ray.
